Location

Swansea is well connected by road and rail, with direct links to other major UK cities. Swansea Port and proximity to Cardiff and Bristol airports further strengthen its logistical appeal. The city also has a strong cycle network allowing many commuters the opportunity to cycle to work on dedicated, traffic-free cycle paths.

Digital Connectivity

Reliable and fast broadband is now considered the 4th utility and Swansea is staying ahead of the curve when it comes to broadband speeds.  Swansea was one of the first pilot cities for Openreach’s roll out of G-fast technology, which has proven successful for many new enterprises, reliant on being online to conduct business.

Since then, superfast broadband, which equates to speeds of 30mb per second has become available to nearly all homes and businesses, with over 90% of those already serviced with gigabit-capable speeds.  The continuation of this increase can be viewed on Think Broadband.

36 public sector sites throughout Swansea and neighbouring Neath Port Talbot are also benefitting from a £1.2m City Deal investment into a Dark Fibre Network that will significantly increase data capacity.  The Digital Infrastructure Programme project, will be delivered by Virgin Media O2 Business. and will focus on hospitals, schools, council offices.  The network will create better opportunities to develop innovatively and efficiently, whilst having the capacity to flexibly match the evolving needs of the sector and everyone it serves.
